St. Armands Jewelers is a heritage, the tradition half a century in the making. The bench has been lit on this corner since 1974.
For more than five decades, a master goldsmith Stephen Cole Powell and Karyn Powell trained in the European tradition owned a jewelry shop on St. Armands Circle. They designed and restored jewelry by hand and re-imagined the gold and stones brought to them by generations of Sarasota’s families.
In 2026, with deep respect for the legacy that came before, the house entered new hands. St. Armands Jewelers took the place of Jewelry by Cole with new ownership. The name on the door has changed; the bench, the address, and the standard have not. The stewards Mia Tohar Eylon and her family who took it up arrived with twenty years already at the trade – bench time and counter time in Philadelphia, New Jersey, South Florida, and Key West. Different rooms; the same craft. They came to the Circle for the same reason a piece of fine jewelry takes its place in a family: to be passed forward.
Even the ownership has changed, you will find the same familiar pleasant Diane DelloRusso at the counter, a longtime manager. She said retirement is not for her, and Mia took her as she is part of the boutique. Diane believes longtime and new customers will have fun finding the new jewelry at the shop.
St. Armands Jewelers carry diamonds: Solitaires, three-stones, and bespoke designs. Each diamond hand-selected for its character and not for its certificate alone. Here, you will find fine jewelry: rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets in 18-karat gold and platinum and set with rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and the rarest of stones.
The world’s most respected certified watchmakers will service your watches in-house: full overhauls, polishing, water-resistance testing, and timing to the second. Mechanical timepieces returned as they were intended to run.
St. Armands Jewelers also carry the estate and vintage jewelry – pieces with a previous life, quietly sourced, meticulously authenticated, and passed forward to their next owner.
St. Armands Jewelers offer custom design. From first sketch to finished piece. Their designers and goldsmiths work alongside you to bring a singular vision to life for the engagement, the anniversary, the moment that asks for something made only once.
They also do an In-house Repair. A repair is a restoration. Sizing, retipping, restringing, refinishing… Every piece is treated with the same patience as a new commission. Their goldsmiths work from a bench, not a counter.
They do an independent, written appraisals by gemologists certified to international standard. For insurance, for estate, for a clear and confident understanding of what you hold. You will get confidential consultation for those entrusted with a collection. They evaluate, advise, and when desired, acquire pieces directly. Carried out with discretion, always.
