Scarpino’s Classic Italian
If you ask Bradenton locals where to go for “real Italian” right now, Scarpino’s is the name that keeps coming up—because it’s earned a reputation for doing the basics exceptionally well: bold flavors, generous portions, a welcoming room, and a team that takes hospitality personally.
The restaurant was recognized as Best Italian Restaurant in Bradenton (Best of 2025)—an award driven by real guest feedback and reviews.
And it backs that up with steady, public sentiment: Scarpino’s holds a 4.5/5 rating on Google with nearly two thousand reviews praising both food and service.
On January 1st, 2024, Scarpino’s was purchased by Rob Arias, a local Florida resident and an industry dedicated and successful restaurateur with over 30 years of experience. Rob grew up in the restaurant world and began his career in fine Italian dining…working in every capacity from dishwasher all the way up to multi-unit management in over 12 locations. Scarpino’s Classic Italian is one of 7 restaurants Rob and his business partner own.
What to expect
Scarpino’s delivers classic Italian comfort food with polish—plus a lively, neighborhood energy. The menu runs deep: pastas, parmigiana, piccata, marsala, seafood options, and an especially robust pizza lineup (including work from our in-house pizzaiolo).
It’s also a place that knows how to host a night out: a full bar program, a buzzing dining room, and live music on select nights—so it can feel like a celebration even when it’s “just dinner.”
Crowd favorites
- House-made comfort classics: spaghetti + meatballs, lasagna, rigatoni alla vodka
- Signature Italian staples: parmigiana, piccata, marsala
- Start strong with favorite appetizers: calamari, charcuterie, nonna-style meatballs
- Finish with delicious classic Italian desserts, we highly recommend the tiramisu
Atmosphere & occasions
This is a strong choice for:
- Date night (warm lighting, great pacing, “stay for dessert” energy)
- Family dinners (comfort food + room to spread out)
- Celebrations & group dinners (plenty of seating and a team that’s used to hosting)
The restaurant also has a private-event capacity (large dining room + covered patio), which makes it a practical option for birthdays, team dinners, and rehearsal-style gatherings.
Customer Reviews:
“From the outside you wouldn’t think much. But inside you are transported. The people, the atmosphere and especially the food were all amazing. We had a catered event in the backroom. The meatballs, chicken piccata, fettuccine and eggplant parm were all delicious and I’m from Jersey saying that. The staff were friendly, fast bringing bread and drinks. I loved it and can’t wait to go back!” – Susan Collins
“Visited here for the first time to celebrate our 12th Anniversary and we were very pleased. The food was delicious. The calamari tossed with the lemon piccata sauce was amazing. I had the lobster ravioli, and it was so good I’m already looking forward to going back to order it again. The chicken Parmesan my husband had was cooked perfectly and the herbs in the sauce were so flavorful. Even the garlic knots and Caesar salad were terrific. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Our server Rolla was sweet and attentive. Overall, an excellent experience.” – Cheri Zupa
“Hands down, some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had in my life. Amazing to find such a welcoming and warm atmosphere in this part of Bradenton. We had a four 1/2 course meal and I have to say we cleaned our plates each time. My husband and I got the nonnas meatballs and a small Caesar salad to have as an appetizer and both were phenomenal. The complementary garlic knots were outstanding. My hubby got chicken Marsala that he said was probably the best he’s ever had, that says a lot coming from him because he’s Italian and it’s a staple in his family’s home. I got chicken piccata and it was just so perfect and delicious. Then we got spumoni ice cream for dessert. That’s something you don’t see everywhere and when you do definitely you need to get it!!! Our waitress was very kind and made many wonderful recommendations for us to try and I’m glad we took her word for it! Next time we’re definitely going to do the tableside cachio Pepe ! Saw another table do this and it was very cool! We will definitely be back! I felt like the price was fair and the environment was very nice and clean. It seems like a well-managed place.” – Aleah Puleo
