Welcome to Pineapple Rocks – a true treasure shop that just opened up on 415 S. Pineapple in downtown Sarasota. It is a sister shop of well known Anna Maria Rocks.
Pineapple Rocks specialize in unusual stones, crystals and fossil shark teeth from all over the world. They buy fossils from diggers in Florida, California, Utah, South Carolina, Africa, Madagascar and Morocco. Most of their sterling silver and gold filled jewelry is made right in the store. All silver chains are made in Italy. One-of-a-kind handmade obsidian knives made here in Florida. They offer the best possible product at the lowest prices. They also have Rock and Roll memorabilia from Aretha Franklin to Frank Zappa including The Grateful Dead. Memorabilia dates from the 1960s and 1970s and includes posters, hand bills, advertising cards, tickets, and backstage passes. They also feature the “For the Love of Mangroves” collection of watercolor, gouache and ink art of Annabel Snyder, an Anna Maria Island artist. They also offer cool vintage string musical instruments.
The most popular part of the store is where kids or adults can design and make their own jewelry with a sterling silver, wire wrapped shark tooth, fossil, crystal, or ceramic pendant. You can choose your own leather and beads to make your design unique. Pineapple Rocks has wire wrapped jewelry made on site in the store. They do custom wire wraps wearable art. They have a vast collection of cabochons available for those who design and make their own jewelry.
Collectors and kids will love their selection of dinosaur teeth, shark teeth, and fossils from the local area and around the world. They have cool fossils to fit any budget.
Store owner Bill Arthur has been known as the shark tooth and jewelry guy on the Anna Maria City Pier since 1995. In 2016 he opened Pineapple Rock’s sister store, Anna Maria Rocks, near the Sandbar Restaurant on Anna Maria Island. Co-owner Ruth Rauch has loved rocks all her life and enjoys designing that just right wrap to highlight a beautiful stone. Store manager Randy Boshela has a great knowledge and love of fine minerals and fossils. He is also an accomplished diver and jewelry maker.

Bill Harris Rock Shop was a full service lapidary business that operated in Sarasota from the middle 1960s through the early 2000s. Bill Harris’s vast collection of rocks and minerals, which ranges from rough boulders to beautifully finished, high end cabochons and carvings, is now available at Pineapple Rocks. Many of the specimens are from Bill’s personal collection, which includes some world class, museum grade crystals and rare minerals.
