Once upon a time (okay, it was 2001), a magical little shop called Leaping Lizards sprang to life on St. Armands Circle, bringing joy, laughter, and a delightful mix of unique gifts to Sarasota. It was the brainchild of Gina Hanna, who was busy preparing for another grand adventure—motherhood! As her little lizards, Bella and Megan, grew, the shop took a nap (okay, a long one), but now, with her daughters graduating with Business Management degrees, Leaping Lizards is leaping back into action!
Much like their family’s deep Sarasota roots—stretching back over 100 years—their love for retail runs through their veins. From Hanna’s Oriental Rugs to gift shops across the country, they’ve always thrived in bringing people treasures from around the world. And now, as a family that juggles real estate, an ice cream boat, a fishing charter, and even carpentry, they’re ready to add another exciting adventure to the mix.
