KaCey’s Seafood & More
From the owners of The Lazy Lobster of Longboat, KaCey’s Seafood and More is a casual seafood restaurant that has two locations: Fruitville Square and on Lockwood Ridge. Named after their wives Kay and Catherine, KaCey’s offers casual, affordable seafood in an upbeat atmosphere with friendly servers to wait on you. With a delectable assortment of classic seafood items such as Lobster Bisque, Shrimp & Grits and Fish & Chips as well as delicious Salads, Appetizers, Burgers and Daily Specials, they have something for everyone!
After 15 years, The Lazy Lobster on Lockwood Ridge was rebranded to KaCey’s Seafood & More in 2022. According to co-owner Michael Garey, he and his partners made that decision because Kacey’s on Fruitville has been so successful with the wide reaching, appealing menu, viable lunch options and neighborhood pricing.

“Top Notch Seafood
It’s been many years since our last visit, and we were so glad to find them still in business as a premier seafood eatery. We had tickets for a show at Van Wezel and Kacey’s is just 15 minutes away making it a perfect spot for dinner before the show. We got there on a Monday evening at about 5:00 and it was packed with a waiting list, but they just happened to have one open table for two and we were seated immediately. Some years back, they were one of the few places that offered whole belly clams, but they now only serve clam strips. Knowing that this is a class operation, I ordered them from the Starter Menu ($15.00). Perfect. A basket loaded with tender, thick strips of clam with a very light coating and deep fried expertly. Golden brown and delicious with a nice clammy flavor, moist and not even a little chewy. Served with a lemon wedge and a homemade tartar sauce. We loved them. My wife ordered the Crab Cakes from the Starter Menu ($15.00). She is a crab cake fiend and has tried many and these were top notch. Just enough fillers to hold an abundant amount of crab together as a cake, then seared on a flat top. Served artistically on a platter with Cajun remoulade that added just the right amount of extra flavor to the cakes. 2 cakes and all I got was one little taste. My wife really enjoyed them. She had a small House Side Salad ($6.00) with her cakes, and it too was very good. The salad had a mix of greens, dried cranberries, shredded cheddar cheese and tomato and she added a flavorful raspberry vinaigrette dressing. I had the Steamed Mussels off the Starter Menu ($14.00). I suspect this was a pound of plump, moist mussels, swimming in a lemon-garlic wine sauce, joined with a couple pieces of garlic bread. The sauce was a nice change from the usual butter wine sauce that is often served with mussels. I left no mussel in its shell. This is a very popular restaurant as the patron flow was non-stop during our visit. I look forward to returning in the future.” – Heino Puidak (Fruitville location)
“We were visiting my mother-in-law, and it was time to go back home. So, we decided to get a quick bite before jumping on I-75. What a gem we found in Kacey’s Seafood. We were greeted with a friendly wave from Davey and shown to a cute little table by the window. I had the most delicious gumbo I have ever eaten. (And I have been to New Orleans and eaten New Orleans gumbo.) My husband had the Monday special, which he absolutely enjoyed by devouring all of it. Next, I had the shrimp and grits, but because I do not eat shrimp, they accommodated me by switching it out with a crab cake.
Everything was absolutely delicious. I don’t have any pictures to show because we started eating before I had a chance to take picture lol.” – Marsha Turner (Fruitville location)
