Bowman Originals Workshop / Showroom is located in the heart of beautiful and energetic Downtown Sarasota, Florida at 124 S. Pineapple Drive. The casually elegant Showroom is separated from the Workshop by a half wall enabling visitors to see, hear, smell, and experience the process of crafting handmade jewelry.

Bowman Original’s head designer Ned Bowman lives, breathes and dreams jewelry. Ned was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1955. As a young man Ned accompanied his parents on frequent antique shopping trips to the French Quarter of New Orleans. During these trips, Ned was exposed to fine antique jewelry. In particular, Mrs. Greenblatt of Rothchild’s Antiques on Royal Street spent time with Ned showing him finely crafted jewelry pieces from the past. This introduction triggered Ned’s lifelong fascination with jewelry.

Ned Bowman finished his formal education at Northern Arizona University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. After college, Ned earned certification in Color Stone Identification and Diamond Appraisal from the Gemological Institute of America. Ned’s education continues today as he makes advances in his jewelry by experimenting with new ideas and materials.

Encouraged by fellow jewelry designers in 1996, Ned entered jewelry design competitions. Ned’s winning awards included three DeBeers Diamond Design Awards for the USA, one International DeBeers Diamond Design Award and one Japanese Pearl Association Award.

Ned’s long list of celebrities wearing Bowman Originals jewelry includes Madonna, Cher, Eddie Murphy and his wife Nichol, Marla Maples, Martin Lawrence, Jeff Blumberg, Nikki Taylor, Daisy Fuentes, Arsenio Hall, Joe Perry of Arrowsmith, the singing group TLC and many more.

Accompanied by Rowann, his longtime assistant and protégé, Ned carries on his lifelong commitment of exploring the mediums of silver, gold, enamel, glass, and various stones. Together Ned and Rowann continue to add to the collection of Bowman Originals classics destined to be coveted heirlooms.
