Bibzie Priori Art
Bio – Bibzie Priori
Bibzie Priori (BibZ) was born and raised in the culturally rich Brandywine Valley in PA, so it is no wondering why her interest in art started as a child. Her mother, a talented artist herself, recognized that Bibzie had talent to go along with her interest and encouraged her to enroll in a dedicated high school art program geared towards a career in the art industry. There she studied art history, theory, and technique. As President of the Art Club, Bibzie worked closely with the Drama team designing sets and props for high school performances.
Marriage, kids and life meant putting art on the back burner until an opportunity came along to combine work and art. Her interest in photography, along with her newly acquired skills with Photoshop and web design, brought Bibzie to the position of Intranet Web Developer for a major cell corporation.
It wasn’t until she retired to Florida that she picked up her brushes, paints and canvases to once again pursue her lifelong ambition to simply paint. Evident in her works, she is experimenting with several styles and subject matter, but most all reflect her dedication to Nature, Water, Wildlife… and its beauty.
Because of her love for nature, Bibzie donates 10% of her net income from paintings to Nature & Wildlife conservation organizations, such as Tampa Audubon Society, Nature Conservancy, and NRDC.
Her paintings now hang in private collections across the country including Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, California, Washington, and Minnesota.
Artist Statement:
While growing up, my older sister and I used to play “Stump the Artist.” Now, I’m not sure if that was ever really a game or one my sister made up. What we did, was scribble a few lines or “squiggles” and the other person had to make it into something. Often times, it was only recognizable to the one who completed the picture, but other times, it was obvious. Just like art, my art…all art, what is seen by the viewer is not always what the artist intended, but often it’s obvious. Much of my art is inspired by those treasured times with my sister in soul, but did I mention that we spent hour upon hour playing in the woods? For that reason, most of my art is inspired by nature in one form or another.
Today, I live in Florida with my husband, Roger Sheets. Roger is an active birder and nature lover and member of the Tampa Audubon Society, so we spend much of our time enjoying frequent wildlife visits to our back lake, visiting the many local, state, and national parks in search of new and different sites. A painting might start out at rock formations, and evolve into… well, something else. You never know where the soul of a painter will take you. My hope is that you can see and feel NATURE all around us… appreciate it… love it.
Original paintings and prints are available directly from the artist.
