“We’ve stayed at The Diplomat five times over the last few years, sometimes for a week, sometimes two-weeks, and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Longboat Key! It’s very clean, the staff is onsite and friendly, and the units we’ve stayed in are stocked with everything we need including books to read on the beach, wifi, and beach chairs. Every unit has an ocean view, and the pool is always the perfect temperature. Our favorite part about the Diplomat is that to get from the condo to the beach, you literally walk a few steps from your door and you’re there. No elevators to the ground floor, no lobbies to pass through. The only time we put our shoes on is when we take the short drive to any of the nearby restaurants serving fresh sea food. We have many great memories of our trips to LBK and the Diplomat, and we look forward to making many more in the years to come!” – Lisa Socwell

“What a wonderful place! The property (inside & out) is kept up beautifully and it is right on the beach! The area is quiet with spectacular views of the silky sand & blue green water, the sunsets are breathtaking and shelling is great too. The front windows are good to watch the storms roll in with the crazy Florida summer weather and it is easy to run in & out between storms with the rooms being a few feet from the beach. On the grass between the sand & buildings there are tiki huts with tables & chairs, many lawn chairs and a sundeck to enjoy the scenery or relax. Full kitchens make staying in easy and there is a Publix really close.

“Our second time here this year. Last here in May 2017. We been coming here since 1998. It is an older complex, very clean, well maintained. The grounds and beach are beautiful. The rooms are decorated very nicely and very very clean.
The staff is great. Joan at the desk has a bubbly personality. Makes you feel honestly glad your here. Bob in and his assistant in maintenance are so friendly and there to help at anytime. I have noticed how well they interact with guests while going about their work.
Finally our housekeeper Elisabeth is so warm and friendly and keeps the room immaculate. Always a smile.
Overall the Diplomat Resort is about their guests and make them part of family. Have met many wonderful people while in the lovely pool area. This is why we come back as much as possible.” – Larry Wenner
