“I will try to make this long story short. My 87-year-old mom has been living on Siesta Key since the 80’s. When Hurricane Ian hit a couple of year ago, she had lost power for quite a while. We live in NH, so it was tough trying to get a hold of her to make sure she was ok. I happened to be on a Siesta Key group in Facebook, where I met Robert Hanna of Preferred SHORE Realty. He was offering to go out and check on people to make sure they were safe. I messaged him and that very day he was out checking on my mom along with many other folks. He called me from his cell and let me hear my mother’s voice. I can’t begin to tell you what a relief that was.
Since then, have been trying to get Mom to move up to New Hampshire with us but she loved Sarasota and did not want to leave her home…… until this year when the area got hit hard with first Hurricane Helene and then Milton. Her home was flooded out from Helene and Milton two weeks later did not help matters.
After that, she decided that she no longer wanted to be on her own in her home anymore, so we made emergency plans to come down to Florida and get her, save what belongings she had, load up a U-Haul and move here up here and put her home on the market.
Knowing Robert is a realtor, and how he gives back to the community, I called him and listed the house. He not only sold her home, but he and his family took my mom in at their home until we could get down there. He also arranged the clean-up of the home and he and his wife did a lot of it themselves. That says A LOT about a person. He genuinely cares for others.
Her home sold within a month and Robert was very professional and thorough with communication on what offers were coming in and how we should proceed. We just closed on the home yesterday and it was fast and easy.
