Jesse White founded Sarasota Architectural Salvage (SAS) in 2003 with a vision of building a business that served an environmental mission and helped people see the value in reusing and recycling. Blending expertise gained as the owner of an independent consulting firm offering recycling solutions to government entities and his penchant for the environment, antiques and architectural elements created the perfect match for a retail salvage store.
Jesse and his team find a steady supply of rotating stock by locating buildings slated for remodeling or demolition, and then removing anything and everything of value. They work cooperatively with historical societies and preservation groups. The result is an eclectic mix of architectural antiques and furniture, décor, garden art and building materials.
Items range from door knobs to chandeliers and are sourced both domestically and internationally. The company also offers custom wood and iron furniture fabricated from salvaged materials.
Jesse is a noted philanthropist directing thousands of dollars to non-profit organizations, accepting consignments on behalf of local non-profits, and providing numerous in-kind donations.
Sarasota Architectural Salvage (SAS) offers an experience like no other…a place to explore, discover and stimulate your imagination….

“Things you could never imagine! You just never know what you’ll find at Sarasota Architectural Salvage. I’ve shopped there for years – just wandering through the aisles is an adventure. When I think about the treasures I have found there I realize they are throughout my house and property. A cool birdbath on the patio and a massive stone “Toad of Abundance” greet my visitors (touch his head and he will bring you wealth). I’ve shopped there annually for a gift for my difficult-to-buy-for brother – and have always found something unique. Great place to take photos, too … strange and wonderful and always changing. Something for everyone and somethings so unique that only one person would appreciate and value them. You just gotta go – explore!” – Ginya17 (TripAdvisor)
