Story of The Italian Grill Restaurant:
“Once upon a time three guys from different parts of the country decided to move to Sarasota, Florida. One was from New York and he was Calabrese. The next guy was from New Jersey, a Napolitan, and then there was my husband Frank from Chicago, who was Sicilian. All three grew up in Italy where they worked in their family restaurants everyday and brought their unique talents & family recipes to America.
Fate & love of food brought them together in Sarasota, where they opened The Italian Grill in 1997 and the rest is history. Over the years their children became adults and their needs changed, so they parted ways each to create their own local business.
Frank & Theresa along with their three children took over ownership of The Italian Grill. After the unexpected death of Frank, they are continuing his legacy. As it has always been, the Italian Grill continues to provide you with special family recipes, imported Italian pastas and the freshest ingredients to create the best homemade Italian cooking in the Sarasota area. All day long sauces simmer, pasta boils, and dough rises so you can enjoy these delicious homemade tastes everyday. From our family kitchen to yours…With amore & buon appetito! I look forward to seeing you at our restaurant.” – Theresa
“Today we were lucky enough to be in the Vero Beach area. We had lunch at the Italian Grill. We got a warm welcome. I ordered calamari and grilled chicken with vegetables. I am on a special diet & it was not a problem for them to accommodate me. The calamari was crisp and tender. I love the tentacles the tomato sauce burst with flavor. My chicken & vegetables was wonderful – tender white meat the grilled vegetables were flavorful. Did I say wonderful? If you are in the area you should try the Italian Grill. Prepare to be impressed! 5 Stars for service and the meal!” – Rod W.
“Italian Grille has a large menu with both Italian and seafood specialties. Portions are sizable and entrees are moderately priced. Our salads had fresh, crispy greens and a tasty vinaigrette dressing, I especially appreciated finding a dish with whole wheat pasta. Service was excellent.” – becohenklig
“On our way to Jacksonville from Miami we found the Italian Grill. This place was great from start to finish, the cheese garlic bread, the salad with their Home made Creamy Garlic Dressing to the 2 different entrees we had the Veal Beneto to the Shrimp Memo they were delicious and to top it off our waitress Victoria fantastic. My Wife is a Italian food snob ( from New Jersey )and she wants to go back here for lunch on the way home to Miami.” – travislawn
“Our Go-to Restaurant! We’ve been coming here for several years. This is a great little restaurant in the very south end of Sarasota. We stay nearby in Stoneybrook and come here regularly, maybe three times a month. The food is excellent, house wines are good, service is excellent; the owner is always there overseeing, asking if everything is satisfactory. It’s one of those places that, when friends are getting together, they say, “Let’s go to The Italian Grill”! – sweenmm
