Burns Court Café is a real Parisian café and bakery in the heart of Sarasota’s Historic Burns Court district. They offer a variety of homemade quiches, pastries, desserts, breakfast and lunch items and they feature good Italian coffees: Espresso, Cappuccino, Lattes and Frappes. Their specialty juices are made to order with fresh fruits and vegetables and they also offer healthy yogurt shakes, authentic gelato and sorbets.
Enjoy indoor or al fresco dining under their umbrellas and artistically lit trees. They also have a rotating artist gallery featuring local artwork in photography, paintings and sculptures. Don’t miss their twice monthly Jazz Night; be sure to get here early, space fills fast.
Come enjoy great wine in their new bar.
“J’adore ma petit café! One of my favorite places for cappuccino and a friend. A very European lunch – fresh and light. As well, a wonderful wine bar. Saturday nights there is entertainment to set the mood.” – Diane L.
“Went to the Wine Bar section of the restaurant with boyfriend and another couple for light bites and to listen to music. They have live jazz on Wednesdays. Sat at the bar in the back and had a great time. Ari, the owner, is so pleasant and accommodating. He has a great selection of wines and is very knowledgeable. His beer selection is small, but very well edited. He let us taste a couple of his current favorite wines and they were all excellent. We ordered the charcuterie board that came with four different cured meats that was delicious. I had the veggie sandwich on a baguette that came with a side of spring leafy salad. The vinaigrette was delicious, not too vinegary but very flavorful. I was impressed with the tomatoes in the salad. All too often, the tomatoes are flavorless and watery in salads but not this one. The portions are small, but everything on the menu is reasonably priced and it is obvious that they use fresh, quality ingredients. The atmosphere is casual and cozy. Like a little European joint. The service was friendly, efficient and non-intrusive, which is important when the musicians are playing. Their lunch menu looked great and Ari said they have real Italian coffee. Highly recommended.” – SarasotaPapmom
“Charming, Cozy European Style Venue. We stopped at the Wine Bar for a drink and some Tapas before going to a movie. What a charming little place! Reminds me of the coffee houses in Harvard Square in the ’60’s. The little appetizers were nicely presented and of good quality. The atmosphere is warm and the service friendly and casual. Not a fast paced place.. a place to relax and enjoy the company of whomever you are with. We had 3 appetizers, a Charcuterie Plate and 2 “Trios” of items on crostini…all presented on decorated little boards! Will go back again..next time would love to try the ice cream!!” – SolaGina
